Summer Riding in So. Calif. --- 2
I'll be moving to southern cal (inland empire) soon. I want to find out where to ride during the summer (cooler places instead of the desert). I read an excellent post by the "ZYGUY" from a little over 2 years ago. There's lots of information. Due to the fire in the local mountain there last year, I don't know some of those places are still open for atv riding. "ZYGUY", are you still here? How about give us an update on your "Summer Riding in So. Calif." thread?
Thanks.
Thanks.

I once was YZGUY, but everybody assumed it meant I was a Yamaha fan (which I am not!). So, I changed my name, hoping everybody would assume I am a Honda fan (which I am!).
The area between Pinnacles and Crab Flats is closed, either because it burned last year, or because of present high fire danger. Unfortunately, it has the best single track I have found anywhere in So. Calif., but rumor is it will open this winter??? This closure kind of cuts the riding area down the middle, but there is still some great riding left. Yeah, if you are out standing in the hot sun it won't be real comfortable, but it is better than the valley.
And, you aren't that far from the Sierras. We are heading to Kennedy Meadows (~8,000 ft.) this weekend, which is less than a 3hr. drive. The Bishop/Mammoth area is 4-5 hrs. away. In the winter, there will be a million places to ride in the desert! Plus, I have 400 acres of private land I can ride here behind Loma Linda.
When you get here, let us know and we can take you on a tour.
