Default Silver Lake Sand Dunes... Where to stay?

I am for the first time trying to plan a trip up to the silver lake sand dunes. I was wondering if any one out there in cyberspace land knew of any places to stay. I would like to make a weekend out of it. I don't want to spend a fortune. The only requirements would be close to the dunes and kinda cheep. I have a 20 foot car hauler that will be housing four or five quads that would have to stay with me at all times. The more info any one can give me about places the better. Also if there is just any general info that I should know... Any help would be truely great! Thanks

Are you looking to camp or stay in a hotel? If you are looking to camp, I would recommend staying in the state park campground. It is fairly nice and way cheaper than the private campgrounds during the peak season. We have also stayed at the Yoga Bear campground in one of there rental houses. It was pretty nice, but is very pricey during the peak season. There is several hotels in the area, but again, they are pricey during the peak season. Let me know if you are interested in camping or a hotel and I will see what I can find for links for you.

When were you planning on going?Siver city is also an option.I know there is more room
for the 20ft hauler. The state campground seemed tight to me. Also i think silver city is cheeper.
Ive never been to yogi bear but my buddy said it was pricey but very nice.

MagnumMudMan and atvaddict01, thanks. I am looking to camp. No hotel will be needed. Everything I need is in my trailer. If the camp ground was to have showers, that would be nice I guess, but most of the time we take enough water to last the weekend. I will be heading down this coming weekend. Leave for the Dunes on Sept 10th, ride the 11th, and come home on the 12th. If any one knows how I could get in touch with some camp grounds, that would be awsome. The closer the better, but also, the cheeper the better too. Where is the state park located? Maybe you have an address or phone number for them? atvaddict01, Yogi Bear is not an option they were way too pricey! I don't need a pool, and tennis court. So, where is this Silver City that you speek of? About how much is it? How close and is there an address or phone number for them? Thanks!

well, the closest to the dunes would be the silver lake state park thats where i always stay on dunes trips. silver city is a good one to. it is located on the way to the state park and dunes, so its farther from the dunes than the state park. ive never stayed there though. it did look like it would have more room for ur 20 ft trailer than the state park. i cant give exact directions, but i hope this helps

We stayed at the state park and it was like $20 per night. Here is their website. You can either call or they do have online reservations. You will need a reservation to get in there as it is significantly cheaper than most of the private campgrounds. They do have fairly nice showers and it is only about 5 minutes from the sand dunes. We had a 30 foot camper in there.

Here is a link to the campgrounds in Mears, MI. If this doesn't work, try a yahoo yellow pages search for Mears, MI and click on campgrounds.
