It takes us about an hour and 45 minutes to get down there. Suttons bluff is right off Hwy 21 in between Lesterville and Centerville (its actually in Centerville). After your several miles past Lesterville (don't know exactly how far) you will pass Suttons Bluff Campground Rd. on your right side about 3 miles before you get into Centerville. There will be a sign. I say "pass" it cause you have to go into Centerville and get your permits. A daily tag $5 and a Reynolds county tag $10. You get your daily tag at the gas station (its on the left hand side of the road across from a small diner. They'll be able to answer any ?'s you have. The county tag you'll get at the court house (you'll see it over behind/across from the diner). There's 12 trails there but most of them are very long (you probably won't be able to hit all of them in one day). It's my second favorite place to ride. A 100 times better than St. Joe's trails................Enjoy

Do you need flags and a slow-moving triangle to ride there? Looks like Sutton's Bluff isn't too far from me. Been to Chadwick and enjoyed those trails, although they are somewhat rocky.

You need smv, flag, usfs permit and reynolds county permit.

PLEASE TELL ME MORE ABOUT THE WATERFALL

CHADWICK AND SUTTON BLUFF TRAILS
You may ride on designated motorcycle and ATV trails at
Chadwick Motorcycle and ATV Use Area in Christian County,
and Sutton Bluff Motorcycle and ATV Use Area in Reynolds
County if you have a Forest Service permit. Forest Service
permits and brochures are available at the Salem and Ava District
Ranger offices, and at businesses near trail areas. Daily permits
sell for $5/day; annual permits are $35.
Requirement while riding at the Chadwick and Sutton Bluff
Motorcycle and ATV Use Areas are:
- Ride on marked trails only
- Motorized vehicles used on trails must not be over 50 inches
in width
- Working muffler and spark arrester required
- Operable brakes required
WHERE YOU MAY NOT RIDE
ATVs are not permitted off road, or on any closed road or roads
that are not physically numbered on the ground.
(36 CFR 261.56).
PLEASE TREAD LIGHTLY
- Travel only where motorized vehicles are permitted.
- Respect the rights of hikers, campers, and others to enjoy their
activities undisturbed.
- Educate yourself by obtaining travel maps and regulations
from public agencies, complying with signs and barriers, and
asking owner's permission to cross private property.
- Avoid streams, lake shores, meadows, muddy roads and trails,
steep hillsides, wildlife and livestock.
- Drive responsibly to protect the environment and preserve
opportunities to enjoy your vehicle on wild lands.
SAFETY FIRST!
You are encouraged to take and use the following equipment every
time you use your ATV: gloves and a helmet, eye protection, rain
gear or cold weather equipment, maps, first aid kit, flashlight, and a
fire extinguisher. It is also a good idea to take plenty of drinking
water and snacks to last you for a hike in case you have to walk out
after a breakdown. Remember, you can ride an ATV farther in one
hour than you can walk in a day.
Even if you're only planning a short ride, bring along some
tools, a small tire pump, patch kit, tow strap, etc. A simple tool
may be all you need to keep from walking.
National forests roads are shared by hikers, horseback riders,
mountain bikers, cars and trucks. Please use caution and courtesy
when encountering another user. Enjoy your ride!
WHERE YOU MAY RIDE
OPEN FOREST SERVICE NUMBERED ROADS
You may ride on any open, numbered Forest Service Road in
counties where ATV county permits are issued, providing you abide
by Missouri State motor vehicle regulations. Approximately half of
the Missouri counties encompassing national forest lands currently
offer permits. (see reverse for list) Riders with disabilities may
have additional privileges. Please call one of our district offices for
more information. Motorcycles and 4-wheel drive vehicles must
meet state motor vehicle regulations to be allowed on open Forest
Service numbered roads.
Forest Service maps showing numbered Forest Service roads may
be purchased at district offices for $6.00 each (Forest Visitor Maps
and topographic maps available). Actual conditions on the
ground may vary from the maps. Open Forest Service
numbered roads will be physically numbered with a post or
sign. Roads with no physical numbered post or sign may not
be ridden or driven.
To ride ATVs on numbered Forest Service Roads you must abide by
Missouri State motor vehicle regulations (Mo. Statutes 304.013,
307.198, & 301.705 ). These regulations are summarized below:
1. ATVs may not be operated on state highways. In some counties,
with a county permit, ATVs may be operated on county roads.
2. The vehicle operator must have a valid driver's license. Riders
under 16 must be supervised by an adult.
3. A person under 18 years of age must wear an approved
motorcycle helmet.
4. All ATVs in Missouri must be registered with a state registration
decal attached to the right front fork or frame.
5. No operator of an ATV is allowed to carry passengers.
6. ATVs cannot be operated within any stream or river, except at
designated stream crossings.
7. Every ATV must be equipped with:
- an adequate muffler system and a US Forest Service
- approved spark arrester.
- a good operating brake system.
- a slow moving equipment emblem mounted on the rear of
the ATV at least two feet above the roadway.
- a safety flag attached to the rear of the vehicle extending at
least seven feet above the ground.
- lighted headlamp and tail lamp.

Suttons Bluff is awesome!!! We go on a weekend trail ride there every year. Lots of trails, mud, little jumps, and some great scenery. Lots of rocky trails that twist in and out of the Ozarks. There is a campground with showers and bathrooms. If the showers are down, there is a very clear spring fed creek to wash up in. Where we camp you can see Taum Sauk, the tallest point in Missouri. There are a few rangers about, so abide by the rules and you will be fine. Hope you enjoy as much as we do.
