this is possibly going to be an all-around park for OHM's and ATV's as well. I have specifics on the plan for anyone interested.

hopefully there isnt any residential areas nearby that would start the ball rolling bakwards by bringing up noise issues.im sure at least 8 acres would have to be dedicated to roadway and parking, and if they would dedicate a minimum of 40 acres to make it roomy enough and safe for orv use they still have half of their park for other uses.hopefully the city sees it as an economic benifit,id be spending money in shakopee.

Hey Lep7mm,

I read the article and it didn't say anything about an OHV park. I'm interested in the specifics you have.

ironrider,

e-mail me at Lone_eagle7mm@hotmail.com and I will forward the info. There are a few different layouts. It's in PDF format so you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view it.

Iron rider,

I just noticed you are the president of an iron range atv club and I am just curious what city your club is based out of and what the club is all about. You could either reply on here or send me an email at rjoffayal@hotmail.com

Thanks,

Ryan

I hope they open an ATV park in Shakopee. I live in chaska and am kinda pissed that there's no place to ride close by. I remember about 13 years ago, before they put up 169, there was a track across the highway from my trailer park in Shakopee, Buenavista Terrace. I always wanted to ride there, but was to young and poor to own an atv. Now that I'm old enough and have the funds to get an ATV, there's no places to ride any more.

Gohip,

you sure resurrected this one from the archives.

As far as the ATV park in Shakopee, it may never happen. The total cost of the project was over $8 million. The city of Shakopee has more sticks in the fire that are more important than an ATV park......sad but true. It was also going to be a multi use park i.e. biking, hiking, education/safety training.
