Rocky creek poker run...Georgia

Yep, I'm planning on going, and my buddy I ride with in Tennessee is coming down for it too.
'Ya think all the rain we've had settled the dust?
I've been there for the last 4 or 5 rides they had and always had a great time.
I park about 2 rows back from the track exit gate in the middle of the row, under the pecan trees. White Ford F150 (Bibb County plates) pulling a red, gated trailer. Red Rancher. Stop by and say hey!

Oh yea i hope so....it will make the mud hole quite LARGE this month as well! The dust 2 months ago was horrible! if you were sellin goggles you could have made a fortune. If i see ya i will say hey. It will be kinda hard not to find me i will be the guy on the loud 300ex(graydon proline pipe) with a guy pullin 2 more ex's a dirt bike and a prarie(sellin em) all on one trailer. Do you guys camp out or just come that morning?

We'll just be in for the morning this time, pullin' in just before the starting gun, I expect. When the track is open for Sat/Sun, then I'll start to camp especially if I can get a night ride in.
Appears I'll have my friend with his 300 and maybe a third rider behind one of us. (yeah, I know, gonna slow us down!)
I don't think you're gonna need to worry about the dust this time .. gonna be more like mud in your eye!

The gal that turned me on to this as a place to ride told me that Rocky Creek had been open for the whole weekend; I've since heard of a night ride being held there.
Since I've been going, rides have only been on Sunday. I hope with the weather getting cooler (and not as dusty), perhaps it will be open for the entire weekend sometime soon.
I rode the additional 6 mile loop which was available last month .. pretty good if you can get your machine through the concrete culvert under the highway.
As the trail S-turns it's way through some woods, the width of the trail is the same as the culvert. There's also a nice creek/mud crossing back in there. A spotter was in place, but crossing wasn't a big deal .. hit the gas and jump in!

Oh, BTW .. have you ever tried the Town Creek Bike Trail in the Oconee Natl Forest outside of Greensboro GA ?
It consists of 2 8-mile loops, with one of the loops exclusive for two-wheelers.
The ATV trail is narrow, one-way .. but it also takes you by a (optional) ravine area 60-70 feet deep and I guarantee .. you want adrenaline? .. try climbing one of the steep routes out of the bottom! Definely, a butt clencher!
