Minnesota riders?

Looks like myself and a minimum of 4 other riders will be up there that weekend. If others want to hookup for a ride, let's establish that here.
PS - My grizzy is louder than my 250r ever was. HMF pipe = alot of noise = a big power increase.

How is that power increase measured?
Louder does not always mean more actual power - it can just sound that way.
I say this because I am concerned with the way anti ATV groups are using noise complaints as a tool to wage the envioromental battles
I would like to know how much power is increased and if the increase to noise (that is being used against us at the state capital) is worth it.

Anyone Live near Alexandria MN?
Anyway, I am always looking for any local riders to hang out with. I know a great spot, a field track here in Minnesota.
Plus theres a great Race track up in Sauk Center, ride all day on Saturdays for $20 this summer.
Anyway, send me an email, gc_extreme@hotmail.com if your interested. Check out my page and info.
Oh yeah, it sux u cant ride in ditches after April 1st.
SO little places to ride... so little to keep people active.. and they wonder why teenagers join gangs, do drugs, and what not.. cause everything they want to do, like ride ATVs is being restricted everywhere.
Well, peace out bros.

Oh and Another thing,
I am sick of many people thinking us ATV riders are just out to trash the place, tear stuff up and mes sup their yards.
Its just not right, most of us ATV riders respect the land.
I mean, riding in the ditches here in my town, I have seen tons of Garbage. From broken glass, beer bottles, cans, tons of paper, and just more and more garbage.
It really hurts me, to see all that just laying in the ditch.
What would the people rather have, garbage in the ditch, or just fourwheeler tracks.
Our tracks might leave ruts, and what not.. but it dont leave garbage on the side of the road.
Just today I was out riding, just taking in the scenery. I came across tons of trash, if i had a bag on me, i would have picked alot up. I even came across a 6 foot by 2 foot piece of scrap aluminum all bent up laying in the ditch. Tomorow I plan on driving by and putting it in my truck to take to the dump, it dont make sense for it to just stay there.
Plus I even found an envelope, someones mail, it was from a Bank. It was probably layin in the ditch for over a week, so i rode about a mile down the road, looking for the address, and finally found it. I rode up the drive, no one was home, so i put it in thier box on the house. With my luck, they may see my quad tracks, and try to sue!!
Anyway, most riders respect the land.. cause if you ride and u see trash... dont tell me it dont bother you!
Peace Out

We were at Nemadji last weekend. The trails were not in very good shape. Where the sleds have packed down the center of the trail, getting even a couple inches off to the side would suck you into 18+ inches of snow. It took 3 hours to go 26 miles due to all of the getting stuck issues. Only the main trails and roads were passable. The ATV only trails were murder with a lot of tree banging as manuevering in the snow was difficult. Without 4x4 truck getting to the parking area was tough and the the 2x4 was stuck solid where we parked up on the hill.
Funny as 20 miles south and there wasnt any snow to speak of. The warm weather should help but 18 inches is a lot of snow to melt in one week.

If I were to do it again - I would either drive in on the road near the small shelter on the Yellow Birch where it connects to the Gandy Dancer trail.
That road is called Harlis Forest Road and is seen in this map
or -
I would park at the ?riverside? bar in Duquette and use the Erickson Township road going EAST to hook into the continental divide trail. Duguette map here
Be sure your winches are working and bring lots of fuel. We burned 3/4 tanks in about 26 miles due to the snow.

I really appreciate the info, hopefully we will be up there quite a bit. Is there good riding in the south end of the Nemadji? I have friends coming out from SD, so the information your giving us will be put to good use.
