Winter riding in Alaska
#1
Has anyone been out and about lately? I', been out to knik glacier a couple times this winter and up to Ruby Lake, but nowhere else. Any other good places to go where there's not too much snow? We went to ruby lake about a month ago and it was just too much winching and pulling. We decided to stick to KNik for the winter riding, but it gets old after numerous weekends in the same spot. Anyone been around sutton or Buffalo mine this winter? I've never riden there in the winter at all. Does it get a lot of snow? One other question. Out at King River/Red Mtn trail, after the trail drops down into sheep valley, over the mtn, where does the trail lead to? I went back about 5 miles after the mountain, but I didn't want to go too far without more gas and supplies.

Hello crumley there was a group that went to buffalo mine a couple of months ago they took the trail to sutton and had to do a lot of winching then. Have you been on arctictrails.net there are a good number of people on there that are usually looking to put together group rides.

Howdy,
I havent been out this winter at all but I sure am missing the riding. Glad to hear your out hitting the trails. I get out to the Sutton/Buffalo Mine area alot. Great riding and very close to Anchorage. Maybe this summer I will see you out there.
Keep up the good fight!
