Default Hill AFB, UT or Eglin, AFB, FL riding

I'm moving from Alaska in July and getting stationed at on of these two bases. I hear Utah has some good riding , but is it endless riding or parks and set trails. And you guys in Florida.... I've seen some of the $hit you guys do. I'll have to get a snorkel, but are there a lot of open trails? Alaska spoiled me. I'm used to unloading and riding wherever my quad will take me. I'm not looking forward to moving.

Utah has a wide wide variety of riding, from mountian (granted not liek your used to , but 10,000"), desert, dunes, and Moab. We do not have parks but the trails are for the most part marked and we are asked to remain on them. There are thousands of miles of trails in the mountains. I am a desert rat, however. And we have lots of good desert riding.
If you get down here, look me up, I will set you up with my riding club, Utah ATV association, we have a monthly ride that moves all over the state.

Hey, i'm stationed up the street from Eglin at Duke Field. I was at Hurlburt for 2 and now Duke for 4 - AFSOC. You have to travel to ride here. A friend of ours that owns land and businesses opened up a place to ride just 70 miles from here in Alabama(i live in Crestview, 18 miles N of Eglin). We take trips all over too. This area is so protected that unless you know someone with their own land, you have to trailer the ATV up and go on a trip. I'm actually leaving right now to go clear trails because Hurricane Ivan and the tornadoes toppled TONS of trees across the trails. The owner hired someone to make a website but i think it sucks and doesn't do the park justice. It's raining right now so the Alabama mud is slick as heck. THere are hills and all kinds of nice riding. We have a big mud pit and drag too. Look at southernridgeatvtrails.com to get an idea. It's all still in work but we have a blast. If you get Eglin, keep in touch. We're always doing something and the family is always welcome. I'm a single dad with a 3 yr old that loves the mud and riding the trails!! Plus, i just bought the 800 EFI sportsman to go with my 03 700 Sportsman. Later.
