The main trail is an rail bed that had the rails removed. This main trail (17 miles) gets really dusty if you are not leading and has lots of bumps. These bumps are not to bad if you have a real suspension.
There is only one sand pit (that I could find) that is right off the trail. You can't miss it.
Along the main trail is a lot of off shoots. You will find that almost all of these trail circle back to the main trail. It's pretty hard to get lost.
All in all, it's a good "legal" place to ride if your registard in NH.
Some of these trails have mud pits, but not that bad. I have a blaster and I've gone thru most of them. I've got stuck it some of them

From windham, you can go up as far as derry, manchester and beyond if you really get into it. I rode that area all the time and its pretty much like was said prior. If I was coming up from conn. I would look for more interesting places, but that is just me... Im kinda bored with windham. (unless it rains, then it gets pretty muddy)

at the end of the beds, there is now a house development, what you have to do is hop down two streets and pick up the trails on the other side of the complex and continue north into derry.
There are also trails that ride right up the side of route 93 that should take you as far north as you want to go.
If you can find the roulston rd trails, they will take you accross 28 and take you to 111 and from there you can ride all the way to kingston and exeter... or head north at hampstead and head into the beds at sandown.
the best thing to do is pickup a NH trailguide
