there is a place east of kansas city. not too sure how far exactly. its called chadwick. ill guess maybe around hour in a half drive. its got camping ,easy, medium, and difficult trails. they are all marked. its a great place for all the family. and is legal. ive been there once and is planning on going back shortly.there is a small fee that you pay at a local store just before you get there. ill see if i can find a site to send you to.

I'm in the same boat as Fastblasterboy. I live close to the Kansas City Airport and I am looking for a place to ride where I can get there in good time. (That being around an hour or so, or less) Whenever i go riding it's always a 1.5 hr. drive or better. I wish Tiffany Springs was still open. I have never been there because I didn't have an ATV then, but I heard it was a great place at one time. It would be great if I could find a place close where I could spend 2-4 hours on Saturday afternoons riding after I get all my yard stuff & "honey-do" work done. If anyone knows of some good places let me know. Also, what would the odds be of talking to the Smithville Lake folks, or other local lake folks, about cutting a few trails around the lakes??? Any idea what it would take to get an OK or who one might talk to?? ..... Thanks!!!

The only place I can think of that is close to K.C. Is about 1-1.5 hours away just north of Columbia Finger Lakes. Surely there has to be sumpin closer, if not it would be a dam good investment to start one.

An hour south by the Truman lake MO is Deepwater. It is closer than Chadwick(3 1/2 hrs) and closer than Finger lakes(2 hrs)
Deepwater link Here is the web site. It is really good for a Quick Fix.
I am going to Finger Lakes this weekend.
There is an illegal ride area off 435 and 470. The land is for sale and is highly used by atvs, jeeps and dirt bikes. I was told that the cops have been ticketing that area alot. I'm in the process of finding out who owns it and I permission can be obtain.
