MN/WI TRAILS
#1
I'm new to the area when it comes to riding ATV's and would like to know if there are any trails near the Twin Cities on the MN/WI border. Trails within a 1 - 1 1/2 hours drive would be great. Also, are any of these trails open year around for winter riding. I tried e-mailing the WI DNR Trail Dept but no response. I'm sure you guys in the area will know. Thanks.

EJWSC400, I'm new to atv trails and live in Mpls. I'm surprized you are not at the AVTAM convention at Milacs? I had to work, take my safety class and maybe break away real early on Sunday to ride. I only have a small trailer for my Traxster, and not sure what you have to haul your bike but we could hook up with me on Sunday if you want. Going up 35 to hinckley and east to St Croix to check it out. My E-mail today is dhendric@vha.com so send me your phone # and let's hook up if possible.

There are a ton of places to ride. Check out the MN DNR site. http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/
Red Top in Isle is nice and it's only 1.5 hours out of the twin cities.

EJWSC400, WIs is open from Danburry up in the winter. There is also lots of trails open there in the summer you can drop right in town at the trailhead.Trail 45 heads out of town along wis 35 and turns off on the nortern edge of town from there its possible to get up to almost superior wis. only draw back is you wind up taking the gandy dancer back which is a railroad grade but, it will net you about 100 miles. Nemadji state forest is also a good place to ride.

Thanks everyone for the ideas. Once I get through all the hunting seasons I'll be able to spend some time riding the machines. This is why I was wondering about winter trails. I also found some helpful trail info on WWW.POLARISTRAILS.COM. Hope to get some time to look it over a little more closely. Thanks again.
