i havent been to the sanford trails but i have gone to the ones in limington, standish, summerhaven, and rangley. the summerhaven and rangley trails are maintained by some clubs. the limington trails go forever and the the standish ones wander around sebago lake.

I actually happen to live in Sanford Maine. The easiest way to get into to town is to take 202, it goes right through the center of town. If your going that way keep going and go past the hospital a little ways down the road there's a John Deere shop on the left at an intersection. Take a left there and follow the road to the next intersection. There should be an oil shop, a school, and The Depot Gas station. You can park at the depot and there a connection to the trails right behind it. You could also take route 4. When you get into sanford go until you get to a fairly large intersection with the little general gas station. If you really want to you could park right there, but the trails aren't as well marked or legal in places. Your better off the take a left and follow main street to the 202 intersection. There's a 7-11 on the left and a jewelers on the right. Take a right there and follow the other directions. There's only one stoplight before the hospital and the John Deere "Shaw's Ridge" intersection I mentioned before. Hope to be helpful, If you want to just get to the town I'd get the directions from rand mcnally.

Great thanks. How is the riding there? What is the terrain. I have a Banshee and a wolverine 4x4. Are you interested in riding sometime? Let me know.
Thanks again for your help.
