Hey guys,

Starting to warm up here, I've already worked a few rides in with my Raptor with some of these nice days we've had.

Anyway, does anybody have any different places to ride than the 3 or 4 parks? Bussey is the only decent one I know of...unless Fort Dodge finally gets off the pot and opens up this fall. Just wondered if there happened to be any trails or something which aren't listed on the iowa ohv site. Hopes are slim, I imagine people would say something if there were, but its worth a shot right? lol...

Thanks for replies or opinions...

None up in the NW corner of the state. You could always try Fingers lake in Missiouri. I think thats what its called anyhow. I have a freind in Pella that always talks abought going down there and says its good. Way to far for me to go check out though. The Black Hills are closer for me. Sory I cant help much, Ime just hopeing and praying that Fort Dodge gets opened back up. That is by far the best riding in the state.

Yeah I'm originally from Jefferson, thats where I keep my Raptor at still while I'm here in Ames going to school.

I guess the park at Bussey, Iowa is supposed to be the best riding...but thats still a two hour trip. Fort Dodge would blow that trip to Bussey out of the water.

5.5 hours for me and definetly NOT worht it. In 6-7 hours I can be in Deadwood South Dakota and riding the Black Hills. Besides that Fort Dodge is directly in my path to Bussy and several thousand acers compared to 300-500 that bussy is. Bussy would be OK if it was closer but the distance just isent worth it. Fort Dodge is 100 times better riding in my book. Much better trail system and way way more of it to ride.

If it rains again and I don't need to help out at home on the farm, I may try and snag my Raptor and pick up my buddy in Winterset with his z400. Stays dry though I probably can't make it...
