Branson Missouri

We visited friends who live just north of Branson (Walnut Shade), and rode our ATV's in the Mark Twain National Forest near Rueter. After our ride, we were greeted by the guy in the green Pickup; U.S. Forest Service. He checked us for our County ATV permit (Not the U.S. Forest riding permit), and having seen those, gently reminded one of us that we needed a flag as well as an orange/yellow triangle on back, per regulations. The riding was pretty good, but I just hate the U.S. Forest rules that "Unless marked Open, consider the trail closed". We had
apparently ridden on of the "closed" trails, but that trail was one of the better trails for ATV riding; just 2 tracks, not a fire road. We accessed that trail through a gate that had "U.S. Forest Service. Please close gate after entering.", which any normal person would consider an allowable trail. I'm just not pleased at all with the U.S.F.S., obviously, but the countryside there has nice scenic hills with lots of rocks that aren't really serious/dangerous. Hope this helps.
