Danbury WI?
I was just there on opening day, last friday. It was rainy, but that was good, because it got dusty fast, when the rain stopped. The wi side is real sandy. Seems to me theres a campground in the st croix forest, Boulder Campground ,and theres a private campground there too, and i think they allow weekenders. Both are on the mn side of the river. And by going thru the st criox forest and down the gandy , you can get to danbury. I didnt see anyone riding the ditch north of town, but I think its ok. The entrance has changed, its now north of the fish bowl bar, which is about 3 miles north of town....last year the entrance was about 1/2 mile south of the bar.
I cant remember seeing any campgrounds on the wi side, but that doesnt mean there isnt any.

Stay out of the ditch north of town. Wisconsin dnr had it blocked last saturday. There was a group of 4 in front of my group of seven, all were getting tickets. Of my group all of the front four got some form of ticket, either no reg or riding the ditch(185$) I lucked out as I was back far enough to turn around with our other 3 riders and got no ticket. I forgot my trail pass in my truck, thats why I turned. Yes I did have one and still cant belive I didnt slap it on.
Turned out to be a good thing though cuz if I did have it I would have just rode right up to them.

Good quaestion....we trailered to the trail head, theres a big parking lot just north of the fish bowl.
You could call turf and tundra, the club which manages the trail, and they could probably fill you in on the ditch riding.
715 259 4361or 715 349 5999 , is the numbers.
Otherwise, youll have to trailer to the trail.
Let us know what you find out.

I called the #'s they refered me to the DNR info center ,still no help. DNR gave me county parks # and i was told that you can not get from Danbury to the trail head by ATV you will have to trailer to get there. They are tring to get a easment to ride the ditch but at this time you can not. I think i will ride the ST.croix and stay in MN.

Thanks for finding that out, TRLYFZ450
You might want to trailer it...its worth it. In my mind, the wi side is much better than the mn side, especially for sport riding. Lots of sand and wide trails, and you can go all the way north to Superior if you want to..on all legal trails and roads.
