crosstimbers in oklahoma
Hi, I am a new guy to the forum, but have been lurking for ages. I went out there with my wife and 10 year old last week. It currently is pretty small, it takes a couple of hours at a very leisurely rate. I would say it was great for my girl, since this is still new to her. I did have to go up a few areas on her little quad for her thu. As compared to the old drapper trails........I have mixed emotions. It is expensive, currently small (i think only about 1/5 of what is planned is currently open), the trails are tammer, which was good with my little one. There is almost no rock, a fare amount of sandy areas, the main loop takes you thru woods for a little while, but the trails are still very new, so they are not tore up by cycles and uneven (i like going side ways, it is more technical), then you go thru some pretty meadows and back into some woods for awhile, not very techical again. Then you drive thru some pastures and by some ponds, and then back to camp thru the same terain as discribed earlier. It would be fun to do some time runs and stuff. There is a moto-x area that looked cool for sport quads and bikes, the parking area is really nice with nice luxury portopotties (the big ones on slabs), there is trash cans everywhere, which should keep it nice. The trails are very orderly and should keep everyone going in the right direction. The old drapper trails where crazy on busy days with people going all over the place. I went last Wed, when the wheather was so nice, we got there about 2 and by 6 or so it was so busy with people wanting to enjoy the wheather. I do not know if this is the normal after work crowd or just really busy because of the great wheather. I think it is going to be a great place for my family, but for going out with the freinds it might be a little tame right now. I can wait till they get it all developed.
