Theres a campground just east of Red Top, which is east of Isle. Theres camping at Nemadji, and st croix too.
Theres a list of trails and maps at the mn drn website, and there are probably others, but those are the ones I know about.

Red top is on the south edge of lake Mil Lacs, and Namadji and St croix are north and east of hinkley. They are all about 75 to 90 miles from the cities.
Heres the link to the minn dnr website.

Trout Valley and Snake Creek have camping available, but they are primitive sites (no showers or utility hook-ups). They are both located just off HWY 61 between Wabasha and Winona. Great time of year to check out this area.

I was out at Trout Valley on Saturday, doing some hiking (since my quad is still in the shop). It was beautiful back there. There probably won't be much better color or weather then there is right now...
