Challenging places to ride near Knoxville, TN
Hello all,
I live in Knoxville, TN and I have been riding at windrock for about 2 years now. I know every trail at windrock like the back of my hand and Im getting a little bored.
I am looking for new placed to ride within driving distance of Knoxville. I prefer to ride fairly difficult trails, my friends and I love a good challenge.
So, what is the best place to ride that will provicde a nice challenge?
Thanks in advance,
Eddie

If you know every windrock trail, then you've probably hit at least some of the west side of Royal Blue as they intersect. You can continue north and west on RB trails heading generally towards Huntsville. RB is divided in half by I-75. You can get to the east side at exit #141, just turn past Perkins restaurant and go about 2 miles to the gravel parking areas. There are quite a few trails in RB and the new Sundquist WMA, many can be fairly challenging.
More extreme stuff can be found in Tellico. I've never been there to give directions but a Google search will find it. I hear it's about as extreme as you can get.
Further north is Harlan KY. It's been touted as being as good or better than Hatfield/McCoy.
