That's not a bad thing. Is "real" sand less coarse?

No, I have not been to the Oregon dunes. I am rather new to ATVs, and I have only been to Reiter pit and the Moses Lake Dunes. Now I was under the impression that Tahuya was more of a 4x4 area, a place with a lot of mud. Correct me if I'm wrong. Also, is Horn Rapids any good?

Horn Rapids is mainly a motocross park. They have an atv track and a dirt bike track. They also have a course that runs around the property for hair scrambles and other events they have there. All the tracks there are sand based. The atv track was rutted out when I was there. There is a web site last time I looked for Horn Rapids, just do a search.

If you haven't been to the Oregon Dunes down south of Florence, you haven't done much in life. They are the wonder of the Northwest in my opinion. There are a number of different dune areas on the coast there and they all are well worth the drive. I have been there many a two day weekend. About a seven hour drive though.

I've ridden Tahuya many times, probably more dirt bikes and sport quads than utes there. There is a 4x4 area that's only muddy in the rainy season.
