CALIFORNIA RIDERS WHAT ABOUT OCOTILLO FOR THANKSGIVING
Lots of great riding! The place is huge, with lots of interesting areas to explore. We will be there Thursday thru Saturday, and unfotunately based on the number of toy haulers I saw on the I-10 freeway this afternoon, it will probably be crowded (hope they are all going to Glamis instead!).
Several famlies from here in the forum are going, and we would be glad to give you a tour. We camp in an area known as the "Cove". If you look at the map (http://ohv.parks.ca.gov/default.asp?page_id=23478), the Cove is at the lower left, near Blow Sand Hill and the ranger station.
There is open camping everywhere, but several areas have shelters and picnic tables, and descent pit toilets. There are showers and water at the ranger station, and a dump station if you have an RV.
