Default Riding and Camping in Texas

Folks,
Does anyone know of a place that has very primitive camping and riding trails?
I am looking for a place to "get away from it all".
I live around Austin, TX.
Any ideas would be appreciated...
Thanks!

If you feel like driving, there is alot of places in Colarado or Arkansas, maybe even out in the Big Ben area of west TX.

I would check out wicked oaks ranch, bedias tx. Check out a link on txmud.com click on the lower right hand of tx. There also other parks, one in Huntsville, tx which is quiet nice. It is not on that web sight I don't think. I have the web sight if you want it?

Good luck...

Boulder Creek in Marble Falls

Both are great places to ride!

Bret,
I guess I understand where your going and most of these suggestions are not really close to it. A little less people and a lot more "away" can be found in western Arkansas........Mena Arkansas to be more exact. Wolf Pen Gap is around there too (same place, just a different side of the National Park I think) There's a bunch of Trails, and really,... if you want a more "away" experience, you can drive around or search in advance and find a place in that region that suits your needs. If you go in the fall It's gonna be one of the most beautiful times for Colours.

There's plenty of riding spots in TX but I don't know how "away" you'll get.

There's supposed to be a new place open north-west of Austin. (close to you I'd say) Don't know the name of it off the top of my head, but being new it might be less traveled.
