Sportsman, are they still planning on a drag strip? There's a lot of people in the St Louis area that will drag a trailer that far! We're over in Illinois and would make the trip.

Good luck with the effort. Do you have any pics of the area yet?

I work over at Lafarge in Sugar Creek and would love to go riding after work. Anything I can do to help let me know.

I own a concrete flatwork company so I have access to skid steers, trailers and of course my little Sportsman 400. If the park needed some concrete work done I could probably swing something there as well. Let me know how I can help.

There was a place down south right on the outscurts of Belton that it looked like might open up, I saw alot of 4 wheelers there about a year ago, before I had one, and the city ran them off. It kind of sucks, since Kansas City owns all the property and it is just sitting there doing nothing. I live in Peculiar and that would have been nice to be able to ride.

I'm kinda wondering if the park will ever open. The Kansas City Star Neighborhood News has a article about Sugar Creek is wanting a casino to be built there. It says Sugar Creek has acquired an option to buy about 285 acres adjoining La Benite Park. The article also talks about the city enhancing the community's Missouri River resources. It talks about developing the business park to the west of the 291 bridges and maybe residential project. They talk about all of this would increase the economic base. Having an offroad riding area probably wouldn't bring enough cash for the city.
