Potentially new park in the Kansas City area.
Well I am very close to getting a ATV area open here in the KC area. It will be literally minutes from my house!!! I attended a meeting tonight at the court house for the city of Sugar Creek, a small town mix in with Independence, They annex property along the Missouri river and have a grant to use the property for a OHV park and some other parks for walking trail and etc. but a plan is also proposed to for go the walking trails and concentrate on the OHV park (they will charge per rider, make more Money off the atvers than the walkers). It will only be less than 40 acres but if it is a success they will expand along the river following east. There is lots of potential, all the atv dealers were there and My Polaris dealer reps were there in full force.... They are really really really behind this.... They are already talking atv drags, sled pulls and mud bogs. Right now only the city is involved, to make this work they will need major support from riders. That is where I think I can get involved, I need to get KATVA involved and the boys from Highlifter to join in and anyone who whats to help make good trails that everyone can ride, people who want to take pride in this project. The city plans on fencing the area in and letting the Atv riders just wheelie neelie make trails and let them rome free...... Big problem..... This needs to start out as a family park,, NOT a "lets make a mud hole every ten feet and steeper than heck hill climbs" that nobody can navigate unless they want a trip to the hospital. People will get hurt doing stupid stuff and get it shut down... Yes it will be small, but it will grow if well taken care of, I seem to be the closest one to this (as far as a atv enthusiast, the city council could care less about atvs but some of them see a need for this and a profit) and the money got approved they just need to finalize the land deal and set guidlines that they do not even know about, but they should exist, which I am not even going to start with, it will take to long but I will start a write up once everything gets confirm and things really start to roll and this becomes a reality, which by everything that I heard and saw tonight it should happen sometime this summer. anybody who WANTS TO HELP with their time and can commit to helping this project email me amcvey@vanwall.com

Jason, right they are still working the details out and I am trying to stay close, really close to the situation.
They do have a walking park on the other side of the river that they want help with, with the use of atvs to haul mulch along the walking trail. this is kind of a good will showing in support of the ATV Park.
Jan 28-29 @9am, sat and sun.
La Benite park in Sugar creek Mo
291 @ the Missouri river, south side of river there is a parking lot.
Bring a 7ft or smaller trailer for hauling mulch. This is a volunteer work weekend, not a Ride. They want us to use atvs to show how many people will be responsable come together to help with the Park.
Your lunch, drinks and Fuel will be provided by the city.
contact me Andy at amcvey@vanwall.com please include your Phone #
or contact Bill at whaman1057@aol.com or call him @ 816-254-8935
contact him for RSVP so they can count on lunches, or me and I will pass it on, email is the best way to contact me, then I will follow up with phone calls if needs be. You can stop by my store VANWALL Equipment in olathe ks and pick up a flyer of this event.
I intend on working Sat and attending the Sunday work day.

WOW!!!!!! Lots of riding going on today.
We had 30 people (boys scouts mostly and their parents) and several dealers showed up with utility vehicles. 2 Kawi mules, 2 Rangers, 3 Artic cat atvs, 3 Kawi ATVs, a Honda and a Gator 6x4.
Saturday got cancelled due to rain (just too muddy) but we got the whole 2miles covered today.
Us two rangers had to Hall *** to get loaded and unload as for every 3 of our loads the Kawi mules equaled 1( they both had old pickup bed trailers that carried 4 skid steer buckets, 2yards) where the rangers carried only a half a yard.
Everyone rode in my Ranger and the city council was impressed with its abilities and comfort. They had been using gators and while in the city they worked great, but they felt they needed a off road capibilty vehicle other than an ATV.
Now I have to go clean it up before taking it back to the Polaris Rep........
