I read somewhere, that Nebraska has more acres of dunes than any other state, but none of them are open to public riding.
Anyone know of any legal dune riding in the state?

 

They are not sand dunes as such. They are sandhills grassland. Except for Halsey National Forest (man made forest in the middle of the sandhills) it is mostly if not all privatly owned ranch land. There may be a few ranchers that would let you ride, although I doubt it quite highly as it would destroy the grass cover. I lived in Western Nebraska mos of my life and admit it would be some fantastic riding.
