The NEW where to ride in New Jersey thread

The reason why I say depending on the weather is because if we get this snow, or even if the big puddles freeze, I'm going to hold off taking the bike apart so I can still go ride. I'd rather have a normal 400ex that I can ride instead of having some problem come about with the install and then have it snow 4 inches with no quad to ride, you know? If you're up for riding this weekend PM me and we'll see if we can meet up. Otherwise I'm always off work fridays and saturdays so I'll let you know how the cam turns out and we can talk about what trails we know of...where I go is kind of low key but so far the people that live where I park haven't had any problems with me being there.

If you have adjusted your own valves etc you wont or shouldnt have any problems with swapping out the cam.
If your fast its done in under an hour, or two tops if you take your time.

It took me a few hours. The worst part was removing all the gasket material. I used a bungee cord hanging from the ceiling to keep tension on the timing chain when I put the jug and cylinder back on so it never came off the bottom gear. Since I had put a whiteout dot on the chain and the middle mark on the cam gear, I got everything lined up perfect. The bike runs like a raped ape, it has more than enough guts to pull the 36T rear sprocket I put on it.
It was really warm when i went out on saturday, all the ice was slush.

yeah I honed the cylinder and put in a 11:1 piston, figuring it might help with any bottom end loss with the cam. Overall I'm happy with it, the motor pulls the 36t rear sprocket just like it did with the 38t before, which is what I was hoping for. I can't say I've been chased more than a couple times but 5th gear is now my "super pursuit mode" if I ever need to get myself out of somewhere quick. Anyone planning on a ride this friday or saturday?

I don't know, any time, I haven't decided what day yet, but unless I can think of a better place I might do some exploring around newtonville this time, and follow the railroad tracks towards hammonton. Thats the only place I really have thats safe. I usually just ride until I see a bunch of people and then just ag along. Let me know if you're thinking of riding around there.

yeah you're probably talking about the tracks that cross jackson rd, about a mile east of rt 54. I was there two weekends ago and rode with a group of guys on quads. For trails along railroad tracks, they weren't bad. I might be going again tomorrow or saturday.
