Default Where to ride....IN NORTH CAROLINA!

Brown mt opens up april 1 and the fee is $5 a day. They have made changes in getting your pass. This quote is from another forums.

Brown mt

Just wanted to let everyone know that I talked to a very nice lady at the Grandfather Ranger District by the name of Jackie, and she told me that Brown Mtn will no longer opperate under the "honor system". Meaning that the box where you used to just drop your money in the envelopes to ride will no longer be in place. You'll now have to go to designated areas to obtain your pass for your stay at Brown mtn. In a nut shell, she said that too many people were stiffing the system and that some of the envelops they did get didn't have very polite things written in them.

I did find out that you can go to the following places to get your riding pass:

Fun Cycles(in Valdese off of I-40)
Oak Hill Grocery(on hwy181)
Chris's Convience Store(also on hwy181)

Jackie also told me that you could obviously get the permits from the Main Office, but that these places above would be the most convient. Just a heads up for everyone so that you don't have to go all over creation to find riding permits. Lets all do our part to keep this place going. $5 a day is a STEAL for the amount of area you get to ride at Brown.
