I rode that trail last year, and mostly rr bed (as you probably know) i also rode from greenville down, but there was a place between greenville and newport that was a real pain to get around i cant remember what town it was. I have heard from the local club they were getting permission from the town for permission to ride the road to get around the area i am talking about.(this was last year so the deal may be done already). but it probably would be a long day of riding to make the round trip from newport to greenville. I also rode the kingsbury trails and they were a fun ride. more of a mix than the greeville trail. i enjoyed both but if i was going to ride 1 trail for the year i would probably go to kingsbury. jackman is probably out of your range but they had nice trails too.

hey manomako,
if you have an atlas try map 31, and find kingsbury pond on rt 16. you will see a red picnic table on the map. as far as i know you can park there. the trail goes right from the parking area. there is usually a snack cart there too, as there is not much else in kingsbury (not even power). the website for the club is http://www.moosealleyriders.org/ and they have trail maps right on there website. they are a pretty well organized club from what i have seen. good luck.
