Default Pismo Conditions Lately?????

Last time I went to Pismo, I mostly swore I would not go back. It was crowded, and you could tell that the dunes had so much traffic that they were rounded off into sand hills. There were no hard edges on any of the dunes and there wasn't really any place out there that wasn't tracked, and hacked up.

But, alas we are going back in three weeks. We are fortunately going mid week, so that should help with the crowds, but my question is what are the conditions of the dunes in general right now?

Isn't spring the windiest time??? So, the dunes should have built back up over the winter?

Haven't been in a while (I'm with you on the crowds). But we've had some serious winds even over here in the Fresno area. If it's anything comperable, then mid-week the dunes should be awesome. Especially shoot for the back side. Bigger dunes and usually less ridden. Reports from Memorial were really nasty wind-wise (it was VERY windy here...20MPH/30gusts). Must have been awesome this last week.

Schools are getting out over here now, so expect it to be a bit busier now.

In spring I ware my spare goggles around camp.
