We need to mass on the local Govt and demand that the OHV funds/registration fees are spent on the development of ATV/ohv trails. We currently have some riding areas but we need more! Model from MN or WI! These locals have it going on. Just think of the tourist dollars spent on or around out of state riders. Another perspective would be the local Law Enforcement assistance on Illegal dumping or Meth Labs. Just around the Metro of Des Moines ATV'rs would provide a visible deterent to these loser's ability to commit thier crimes.

Iowa is 98% privately owned property, good luck getting land owners to give up good farm land so you can ride. Just going to have to get use to driving North where the good trails are. Do what we do, over here in Northwest corner. Ride the rivers, about the only place left where you can ride all day with out being bothered.

 

im in dubuque iowa there is almost nothing here, i have to go to wisconsin or private land to ride on anything worth while.

I went to black hills and I have to say south dakota has it going on you can ride any were you want on the roads we went on trails and when it was time to eat or gas just ride into town and get it no on making a big deal about it. The group of us ran into a group of guys and they were also from the north western iowa out of all the the people you see out there the only ones on atvs were iowa guys going out of state to spend money on riding atvs. If any of you were the ones we ran into out by deer field lake around May 10 I hope you had as much fun as we did I believe they were from sioux center iowa. I know the group I went with are going again this fall to do it again.
