I used to live in Austin (Dripping Springs actually) and we used to do alot of riding out around Camp Ben McCullough on Camp Ben McCullough Road. There used to be some trails at Camp Ben (right across from the Salt Lick BBQ) along the creek. I haven't been back in awhile and have heard Austin is quickly swallowing up that area so the trails may not be there anymore. It would be worth looking into though.

There also used to be quite a few places to ride along 290w between Austin and Dripping. Try the road on the right just before you get to Cedar Valley on 290w ( I forget the name of it but it is a county raod ). There are some wooded trails in there to ride if it hasn't gotten too populated by now. That road ends at Ranch Road 12 and if you go right from there, there are also some trails out that way toward Hamilton's Pool.

Hope this helps. I wish I lived in Austin again!
