Default Riding in Argentina

Hi, I'm new to this forum and I want to share an experience we had with 4 friends of mine riding in the mountains in Cordoba, Argentina.
We live near Buenos Aires and Cordoba is 750 kms. (near 500 miles) from our homes.
The trip was in march 24/25 of this year.
The ATV's were a Foreman 500, two Honda 350, one Honda 250 and a Yamaha Raptor 350.
This is the link of the video and I'll hope you enjoy the video like I enjoyed that journey.
Video Cerro Aspero, March 2007
Greetings.

Marcelo

Welcome to the forum!

That video is quite impressive. The loads you were carrying on those quads was a lot for the terrain you were in. I'm impressed the sporty was making it thru some of that stuff.

How long were you on the trail? Looks like you had the equipment with you to stay out for an extended trek. Apparently you had mostly wet weather, is that the norm for the area? How far did your group travel with the quads?

Thanks for posting that.

Very nice video, good music too. I love rocky terrain. That looked like a lot of fun. I wish I had something like that around here.

First of all, thanks for your Welcome.
The original idea was of 3 days, we wanted to go to a place where a Fokker F-27 Friendship 400Ma crash in 1995, but, the farmers close with fences and close the trails that go thru the mountains, so finally we had to change and took only 2 days.
That is the reason why we were fully equiped for spend the night in the mountain.
In the morning of the first day, a heavy rain reach us at the started of the ride, so, we had to wear our rain clothes.
I think the rain is not the norm for that area.
I don?t know how many miles we traveled, but soon I'll let you know because we had 3 gps, but may be 120 or 150 kms (80 or 100 miles).
And yes, it was so sporty.

Looks like more fun than most folks will ever have. Trails appear to offer a challenge but still passable for most riders. With the quads loaded down like that they tend to be a lot less stable and more of a challenge to control. Too bad you were not able to get to your target destination, any chance you will be able to get permission to use the trails and try again later?

I think it's very hard to get permission from the owners, but I'm confident that in the future the trails will be open again.
