TEXAS SAND!!!!!
#1
ok, i think we all know about kermit, tx and the dunes there. i haven't personally been there, but it looks like a blast. i unfortunately live about 6 to 7 hours from kermit. however, i do live within an hours drive of galveston. now i know people like me that live in houston, tx are thinking, galveston...so what?? you ride up and down the beach, i want some soft sand or even some dunes. i got you covered. if you know where galveston is then you'll have no problem finding san luis pass. when you hit the sea wall you don't make the left towards the ferry. take a right and just stay on that road for about 25 to 30 minutes. you will see where the road starts to incline and there is a bridge that goes over san luis pass. you want to get off the road before that bridge and take a left onto a beach access road. here you will have almost half a mile from the water to the end of the riding area worth of WIDTH of beach. up towards the center there is some really soft sand and even some DUNES!!! we went last weekend and it is a blast. now your not supposed to ride over the dunes with the vegetation on them, but there are plenty of decent sized ones with none on them. i took my tri-z down there and shredded that sand. have fun and ride safe.
