Blue Hills - Wisconsin

Yesterday did 60 miles in Blue Hills area (Birchwood). First time there and great ride through woods, lots of terrain changes, rocks, mud, very wooded - goiong to go baclk again. For a more mundane can also ride Tuscobia trail. that cuts through the 100 plus miles of "fun" trails. Also the Birchwood Bobcat ATV Club provides an adequate map for $1.00 donation at local business's...

Well it is in northwest Wisconsin, nearest fair size town is Rice Lake, but mostly trails surround little town of Birchwood. There are county parks with camping, but don't think much for showers though can check. Might be easiest goto Washburn County Wisconsin related web sites:

or Birchwood web site:

Note though that website for some reason do not note the many miles of ATV trails on either side of the Tuscobia trail, but maps of these are readily available at gas stations, sports shop in town.
Also there are motels and lots of lake resorts with cabins in the area, right now it is prime season on these but think months like September and October would be really good (+s are less people, better rates, and less bugs)

I have made a couple trips over to the Blue Hills & it was a great ride. They ruined the 9 mile loop about 3 years ago by filling it in, now is about same as the Tuscobia. The trip up 31 around Spider lake HAD a few good spots but have not been there this year yet.
