Places 2 ride in Pennsylvania?????
I agree it's silly. It cost me 45 bucks (20 for the fee, 25 to do the paperwork) to register my bike last week. This is for two years. I called my insurance, 75 bucks a year. I can see all of this for residents, but for non-residents? Keep in mind, most of the privately owned places probably wont be a hassle. You can ride in MD and VA without any of that crap and it may be about the same distance.

Another place u can ride is Marienville, PA. It is $35.00 for the year. They have two sets of trails. One is the Bike trail and ther other is the Atv trail. The bike trail is harder, it has a narrow course and lots of rocks. The Atv trail is more flat and open. You can ride from June 1 to the September 4. Then the trails close down and re-open in December.

I'm in Philadelphia and couldn't find anywhere to ride until today. There is a Great stretch with tons of trails, mud and all behind the Phila international Airport. take island ave and make a left at the first stop sign all the way out to any cut off. You can unload and leave your stuff, cops don't bother with you. have Fun!

Pretty much anything in schuylkill county is owned by the Reading Anthricite company. There are some sick trails in their 22,000+ acres. You can purchase a $100 permit for the year. They go on sale on January 21st. Anywhere they own, as long as they are not actively working in it, is fair game from my understanding. The lands have been ridden for years, but illegally. the $100 is definitely worth the fine you pay if caught without the permit.

sugarhead. the phone number for reading anthricite is 570-622-5150. they will have maps for you when you buy the permit. It is $100 and went on sale today. They have 1000 permits for sale. the office is in Pottsville, Pa. If you are coming from rt. 80 you would take 81south towards Harrisburg and get off on exit 124 towards ST Clair. It's about 15 minutes past that. If you would be coming Rt 78, you would get off on rt 61 in Hamburg, by Cabella's.
