I don't think the old man is going to be in much pain. The Vet gave him enough drugs for ten days and SWMBO says the one is a pain killer. Gave him one last night and half an hour later he was passed out. Matter of fact I didn't hear him get up all night and this morning he just wobbled outside to do his business and is asleep by my chair as I type this. I suspect it's zombieville for him for a few days. He was still goofy from the stuff they used to put him out for the surgery when he came home yesterday and dang near fell asleep eating his supper.
We have clouds and wind this morning, just 57 degrees out and a strong west wind. Sure hope the prediction for hot weather later this week is accurate, I'm about to build a fire in the stove.
I ask awhile back but am still looking, anyone know where to get a really good winch relay? I've had three of them and they all failed due to bad contacts or hanging up. What is a good brand? Any help appreciated.

Yes, Gearing is HUGE, but you also built your 450 out to a 480, so you have the extra power. I suppose the 450r might have lower clearance than my LTR, but I dunno. I haven't found too much trouble climbing over things or bombing through ruts in the dunes on my 20's and I like maintaining my lower center of gravity with the 20's as well.

I agree Jayna.. I would go to 20's over my 22's if I had to get new tires.
Finally bought a factory service manual for the z. Looks like it will be really helpful for everything I would ever want to accomplish. Paid $35 for from some guy in NY called the Manual guy. Think I will order one for the V-strom as well.
the only time I would get stuck with 20's on my 450 was down in some of the knarly backin tree shots...if you have the power to push them there is no reason to go with smaller than 22" imho. my 450 motor is close to stock (sort of) and I have no problem turning 22's...tire type is more of a factor than any thing .....haulers work much better than say kenda dune runners of the same size...I have had both.

If you looking for a good duner go with a lightweight V paddle! If you like me and want to drag race or climb anything insight go with a straight paddle. 8 paddle for a straight is sufficient. for drag racing go with a 10 paddle extreme ultra light straight paddle! Sand Gecko's are only good for Moses lake and draging driveway! But i don't suggest dragging you driveway with a sport quad you go through too many clutches. I know that by experience
