A group of us from Indiana would like to try out some ATV trails in Michigan this year. We have been to many places in KY and TN. We thought about trying Silver Lake Sand Dunes one day and then hopefully hitting somewhere close the next day. Could anyone provide some info? We would all be on quads plus at least one Polaris RZR.

What time of permits and costs are involved?

for the dunes you will need state park sticker $24 dollars a piece i believe and orv stickers 18.25 a piece again i believe. and once you ride the dunes you prolly wont want to leave to go trail riding as you can go trail riding at the dunes. you could also get day passes i believe they are $8

 

also you will need a flag which i beleive they are under 20.00

 

The ORV sticker is actually $16.25 and it's good for every trail in the state for one year, April 1 to March 31. If I'm not mistaken the sticker's the only thing you need on the trails other than proof of no-fault insurance. There are over 3,000 miles of trails if you count the motorcycle only trails, so $16.25 a year is a bargain. I think the price is the same for out of state residents too.
