Well it really isn't that simple. You can ride in some of the parks, like state forrest (Pittsfield, MA) in the summer. Other places are October Mt. (Lenox, MA.). There are a lot of trails out in Western MA. But most of them are private. But people don't really seem to care to much. As long as you are respectful, and are registered you can pretty much ride. I also ride a couple sand pits out there as well. Let me know if you need more info.

Well to start you can take a look at this web page. Here you can get the forms to register. http://www.state.ma.us/dfwele/
I would think that you have heard of the MA stat parks. I am pretty sure (not positive) you can ride there legal after snowmobile season. If you go to the state park in Pittsfield from there you can go to a couple other mountains around (powder mt., west mt.) and also there are some trails to NY.

I live in CT and I have tried the trails at Oct Mountain.

To register your quads, go to the Mass DMV closest to you. Bring proof that you paid sales tax in the state that you purchased your quad. I think it only cost $20 for the year. Once you have that, you can ride legally in the selected Mass trails.

The closest to you would be the Otis trail system. (I think) I have never been on that trail, but I do know that quads are legal there.

Oct Mt. was not for me. Very hard trails for racing quads, but 4x4 or utility types would be fine. Tons of trails at the mountain.

I used to belong to the NEATVA but they recently split into two groups. One for the MX and the other for the trails. I do know that the people are pretty nice and do a lot of group riding all over the state. Even the clean ups were fun. At home I have the paperwork for the trails club, and if you want that information, let me know. They are so serious about the trails, that they have a big time lawyer working for them.

The deparment of enviromental protection registered my ATV. The MASS DMV would not do it. The said the DEP handles all quads and boats.

When I went to get my registration, I went to the DMV in Springfield. But it may have been a DEP office inside. I waited in the usual long line, only to find out I had to go somewhere else inside the building. It may have been the DEP office, I can not remember. But there was no line at the correct office. So try the DEP first.
