You have two real nice large parks pretty close, Jacksonville Texas. Its probably less than 2 hours from you to the east. One is Mud Creek and the other is River Run, both within minutes of downtown Jacksonville. We ride Mud Creek several times a year, 3000 + acres with lots of mud, its a river bottom. Good camping and loads of fun. River Run has really great trails and you will see all kinds of rides. The camping is not as good but wonderful trails through the pine trees. Both locations are really good.
Another place we are going too is Pool ranch just ne of athens. Its private and only open 5 weekends a year. We"ve never been but have heard from several people its reall good riding with all types of trails. We understand the campimng is good but no water or electricity so bring a generator.
All three locations have web sites so take a look, hope this helps.

River run is the best park i have come across yet. ive ridden pool ranch, mud creek, gator run, rabbit creek, and river run. river run has toped all of them every time. they even have an old car wash setup so you can wash your bike before you get home and the mud is all hard and stuck on. very very good park.

I like Boulder Creek, it is near Marble Falls. 3600 acres, about 50 miles of trails and still building. Camping and RV sites available. Definitely Hill Country terrain. All levels from novice to expert. http://www.bouldercreekfarms.org/offroad.html
Boulder Creek is a family oriented place.
