2001' West Texas Outlaw's Sand Drags and Mud Bog!
2/24/2001

Hey fellas, I promised that I would let yall know when I got more information and here it is. There could be more information about this event however, this is what I have found out so far:

What: West Texas Outlaws' 2001 Sand Drags & Mud Bog

Where: The Canadian River 15 Miles north of Amarillo, Texas on US 287 North
(west side of bridge ½ mile)

When: February 24th & 25th.

Events: Sand Drags & Mud Bog

Sand Classes: trucks, ATVs, Sand Rails, Dragsters, open class.

Mud Bog Classes: For more info, Click HERE for more info and the flyer.

Entry: $20 per entry per event

Time: Sand Drags: tech @ 7:00a.m. start @ 10:00a.m.
Mud Bogs: tech @ 11:00a.m. start @ 3:00 p.m.

What to bring: plenty of drinking water, fuel, food, coats/jackets, gloves, extra change of clothes, tow ropes/chains (you never know), lawn chairs and last but not least, plenty of film for your camera! Take lots of pics, you'll be glad you did!

Why?: The only fuel to be purchased will be in town (Amarillo) so be sure and get plenty of supplies i.e. food and plenty of WATER! the sun is a killer even in February! Alcoholic beverages are permitted but I urge you to drink responsibly and whatever trash you bring in, take it with you when you leave. Please!

Camping is allowed all over the area all weekend however, NO RV HOOKUPS are available. Nights will be very cold so be prepared! If you would rather get a hot shower and sleep in a warm bed, Hotel rooms are available in Amarillo. I would make your reservations soon though.

Tip: for you if you're going to be driving a 2wheel drive car/pickup etc.
PARK AS NEAR TO THE BRIDGE AS POSSIBLE! There is nothing more annoying (and funny) to the off-road community than someone trying to head through the sand with a Ford Escort or some vehicle of that nature. In my past experiences with this event, most people are more likely to watch (and laugh) at you when you try something like that and get stuck beyond hope without a pull out from another vehicle. Most times, they will be sitting on their HUGE 4X4 while they are laughing at you so, save yourself the trouble and embarrassment and park at the bridge and WALK because you just might end up having to walk anyways. Just a little tip from me.

For a a map of the area where the event will take place and more information check out my web-site: http://mudpit.cjb.net/

Note: I am not affiliated with the West Texas Outlaws nor this event in any way. I am merely just passing along the information in hopes of seeing some of you here. I believe it will be worth the drive for you guys. Last year there were over 10,000 people in attendance so this is the place to be in February 2001.

Personal Note: "atvmud" (Patrick) and I "KODIAKMAN" (Chris) are going to be there in prime form so, if you are planning on being there E-Mail Me and we'll look for ya. See yall there!
