Michigan Riders
#1
Hey Everyone.
Are there any good clubs in Michigan that promote
ATV's in a positve way, maybe hooked to the DNR, so that we can avoid any trails being shut down (Mt. Morris/Mounds seasonally) and possibly lead to fund raisers, charity rides, etc, and opening more trails in the future? If you are aware of any, let me know. Also, would anyone else just be interested in joining up if there was such an animal?

I have been a member of the CCC [Cycle Concervation Club] of Michigan since 1998.It's members consist of around 95% motorcyclist. You might be asking, why be a member than?Simple, the CCC is responsable for about 90% of the trails we[ATVers] ride in our state. They groom them, they maintain them, they build them. They are the ones who fight to keep our trailheads OPEN,not the DNR!The DNR is excellant at handing out tickets though.
With a yearly membership to the CCC,you will receive a monthly booklet each month, and you will also receive a book on EVERY LEGAL trailhead in our state.Contact 1517-569-9999.Yrly cost is a mere 25 dollars.
I also belong to MATVA,which stands for the Mich All Terrain Vehicle Assoc. Its members all ride ATVs.It is a newly founded association, just started up in very early Jan of 2000.We have around 60-70 members right now and growing bigger each day.MATVA is new,but I know the president personally and he has some great up coming ideas for members.Call Richard Rondeau at 1313-565-3818.Best of luck to all,we really need to jell our riders together here in Michigan,
Bill
