Nice Campground / Trail Combo
#1
Hi All,
My family is looking to take a camping / ATVing vacation this summer and I am hoping you can offer some advice. I have a toy hauler camper and ATVs. We'd like to find a campground that has a pool and activities, but also connects to a trail system (public or private). That will give the family plenty to do while my son and I ride.
Trail heads close by are good, but then we'd have to pack the quads up in the camper to get there (I'm towing with a Durango not a pickup), so we're hoping for something where we could ride from the campground.
I know there's got to be something out there, just can't find it! :-) We live in Michigan, but will drive a day or two.
Any suggestions would be appreciated!
Thank you,
Ben

Blueberry Hill Campground, Just North of Sault Ste Marie, Canada Side.
We stayed there a few years ago. There were trails across the street that were tied into the Snowmobile trails. Good riding, GPS required. No real good trail maps.
Twin Hollow Campground, Gilbert, WV
I have not stayed there yet, but will be in three weeks. It's connected to the Hatfield McCoy Trails system.
The U.P. or Drummond Island
Don't know of any campgrounds that you can ride from, but there are remote sites all over the place. May have to jump into the Durango and head to a state park to get showers. Just a thought. Near Paradise has some good riding. You can ride everything up there except paved roads.
Hope that helps
