Anyone who knows the area planning a trip to RAC - Burma side on the 24th this month? I'd be interested in someone who knows their way around a bit, I got my permit 2 months ago and finally have time for a trip on the 24th with a few friends, but we've never been. Lemme know!

I'll be there on the 24th, as long as it's the saturday, which i think it is.
Where do you want to go? I've been to the Wind Turbines, the lofty tunnel, Paragon 4x4 trails, there are all kinds of resevoirs to check out, if we're lucky, some babes will be in one,,lol
Here's a google earth pic of where i've been

We'll be up there (three of us) around 9:00, planning to park on Burma where the 'no parking without permit' sign is unless anyone can suggest a better place to park / start from. If you are going to be up there on the 24th and wouldn't mind some tag alongs, I'd really like to have someone show us around - I have GPS, but without someone who knows where to (and where NOT to) go, it looks as though we'd be roaming around pretty aimlessly.

Here is a link of our ride last weekend... This is through a site called everytrail which you can upload your gps tracks and insert pics and videos right into google earth of the exact location where you took the pic....
If you hover your curser above the thumbnail pics, a play bar will appear and you can play a slideshow. Also, on the right hand side of the play bar, there is an altimeter icon, that one is real sweet as you can tell the steepness of the hills we went up and down. Down in the description it also tell you the miles we rode.
Another sweet thing is on the right hand in the description area, you can download the gpx. file...
On the lower right you can view full image as well.
Pretty kool

Damn, that's a really awesome ride there, and you're right, that site is really cool. Looks like you went way off and RAC property - no one bothers you up there? I mean having never gone there, I'd be paranoid as hell blowing by that prison parking lot
And no one chases you off the camp ground or anything? That's an awesome 72+ mile trip, no doubt. Not sure we'd be able to keep up the whole day, but we'd defintely be interested in seeing some of the areas you check out. Thanks again for that site link, I downloaded the gpx files in to my GPS.
If we park over off Burma, can we cross 61 somewhere to get to the west side of the RAC property in that area? It looks like some guys just cross through the Walmart parking lot (straight across at the light) - cops don't bust anyone for this?
Yeh, we're from jersey, so paranoid. I get dirty looks from cops riding on my own 40 acres, let alone going on a stomp like this.

we never had any problems. We are on rac, then off, then on again but the trails we ride are prodominate and we arent jumpin fences or anything,,lol. A lot of them run along powerlines which you will see many other riders.
We went by the prison parking lot lookin for gas which we dont have to do anymore,,lol.
If you ride with us, we dont have to ride as far as the camp ground which by the way, we stumbled upon it, and we had no trouble going through it, matter of fact a couple of guys showed us a different way around this mountain we came down which we would have never made back up on that particular trail. That's how we found out about the camp ground. Other riders are always helpful around here.. It's a great community of people.
I have a couple of friends from jersey, they all say the same as you.

We had a nice little ride on Saturday - didn't see your truck over off Burma Slyder01, but I had your GPS data with me... we chickend out when we got to the "NO ATV's, NO QUADRUNNERS" ,etc. sign, but still was a nice stomp.

Looking to check out the other side of 61 next time, scoped out parking over there, looks to be some good riding there too.

We didn't get there until 9:30 am. Another mile and you would have been right back on RAC land. If we would have went to the tunnel, we would of ran into ya!,,lol
We rode to the other side of 61 to the 901 pub and stopped at a couple of kool places like the Black Desert Hill Climbs and a place they call the Castle. I found them on google earth and we succeeded in finding them. A 50 mile ride, a great day!

Hey Slyder you never have any problems going near the prison after you go under 81?
I was gonna check that area out but was a little worried when I saw how close the prison is to that trail. Do they patrol that area or can you just pass through no worries?
