Your best shot is Silver Lake in MIchigan, if you didn't already know about it.

You can go to the North end of Carolina beach, NC it's kinda small but its sand. I was just down at Holden beach last weekend and from the intercoastal waterway we stopped at some nice dunes and sand trails right between Long Beach and Yaupon Beach. To get there go like your going to long beach but don't cross the intercoastal waterway, it's on a road on the right before you cross over to Long beach.
