Hey Mike,i did some riding sunday with big John and his buddy,,it was good times, but man oh man,John can tell some stories haha.
yep- 40 minutes of riding to 30 minutes of talking! That's why I try not to shut the motor off when he does- or stop unless I really have to when riding with him! Great guy- but shhhhh!

I am definitely in for Sunday at 10:00.

I don't know where Troyboy lives (but I look forward to meeting him), so I'll plan to be at Beergut's by 9:45.

Can't wait. See you then. Pray for good weather....

Where abouts are you Troyboy? I've ridden in Thompson before and it was great. I'd definately be interested in Sunday. I'm in Oxford. I could probably get there by trail, but I've never gone that way. Shoot me a message when you have a chance.

I had a little time this afternoon so I parked at Beergut's house and went riding. I crossed the pond and then when I started to cross the river I almost ran over this:!

Luckily I saw it just in time and avoided it. When I got to the spiky section of power lines, I got off and walked it first. I found a couple of freshly buried spikes (these were rusty steel this time, not aluminum).
I decided I would just avoid that part of the trail and I stayed to the far left of the power lines. Well I made it to the top of the hill again only to look down and find two of these in my front tire:

Thanks to Mr. Spiky, I now have about 11 plugs in my almost new tires.

I did not call the PD or anything, nor did I remove any spikes (except the ones sticking out of my tires), so use caution!

TC

where is this- what pond is this?
There are no ponds on his property- that looks like its been there for quite some time...

Was this the 3' deep water on the grid near his house, or in the trails behind my house?

There's a trail that'll take you to a pit, and leads to south street. Then you can hit the pavement for about 2000' and pick up the grid again- avoid all that crap.

mr spiky got a few of his own spikes 2 nights ago I was told.
There are a lot of kids who ride at the pit who want their revenge-

This was at the river crossing - left past the pond and about halfway to the power lines is the river you cross - the disc brake with the spikes was set right at the edge like a trap.

I'd like to learn that alternate route and avoid this whole bad scene.

TC

I take it if you don't go left past the pond and keep going straight - leads to the pit?
