Then on the way back saturday night, we were cruising down rt 2 in houlton Maine, and the tranny blew- again stranding us in northern maine at 2am 50 miles away from the closest (closed) town and 400 miles from home- pitch black deserted road not a house in sight. I sat there for about 45 minutes fuming- baby in the back seat and the wife a bit more then nervous. I had no service on the cell and for some flipping reason my on-star was not getting a signal!
I actually contemplated riding the atv to the first house I passed (at 3 am) to get help. Talk about being screwed! After an hour sitting there I tried to drive the truck again, the only gear that would work was 1st gear- which kept slipping as well! I fu****ng drove the whole way home to douglas in first gear, 35 mph, engine winding out at 4500rpm the whole way home- did I mention the whole way home...
That was the short story- I'll spare you the minor details like the 30 minute fight I got into with AAA once I was within 100 miles of my house... by the way, did I mention I drove it the whole way home in first gear?

ha ha ha- actually, 600 miles into the trip on the way up, the front hub bearing went- stranding me, my wife and our baby in the middle of some canadian back road 100 miles from the closest hotel at 3am. Slept in the truck 5 hours waiting for a flatbed to a garage- that charged me $850 to fix the hub bearing.

Ouch. Sounds like Chevy Chase in Vacation.
I would NOT want to be your mechanic tomorrow morning. I'm guessing you're on the verge of violence...
