Rock Run PA - great family riding place
#1
I would highly recommend Rock Run for off-road fun. It's located near Patton PA. Here's some highlights and recommendations:
1. good for at least 2 or 3 days of riding
2. fun for bikes and ATVs
3. camping but no potable water. they do have clean restrooms though.
4. stay at Prince Gellation (spelling) state park about 15 minutes away
5. trails extremely well maintained
6. very affordable
7. friendlly staff, including the local community
8. so many trails that we never passed another rider
9. trails range from very easy to moderately difficult. Pleasantly surprised to find that there wasn't a problem with excessive rocky trails.
10. pretty remote area, so don't expect to "run down" to the local WalMart for needed items.
I'm taking the family back on Aug 18-20, along with a couple friends and their kids. If you're up there and see a black Suburban w/ trailer and a black F150 from Maryland stop by and say "hey!" I've never seen it that crowded, no more than a couple dozen trucks in the parking area.

We have recently purchased an ATV for our grandson and live about an hour 1/2 away from Patton, PA. Can you give me more details on Rock Run, directions and is it good for beginners. Also, do you know if there are any places to rent ATV's in Western or Central Pennsylvania?
Thank you

1. Rock Run now rents ATVs. They had at least 3 of them and are planning on getting more.
