Default Newport, Maine

Hey guys,
just rode from Newport to Dover-Foxcroft today...not too bad but definitely wasn't as much fun as Jackman.

We parked in the big parking lot at the end of High St and took off. Went all the way to Guilford where the trail ends at the Covered Bridge...I didn't realize it was all shut down which was a bit of a let down because I wanted to go further north. We turned around and took the trail to Milo but only got a little way and the trail seems to end...Came to a sign for a place called "Northern Lights" which was to the left, on the right there were logs across the trail, and straight brought us out into the middle of a big log yard...I couldn't figure out where the trail continued. We ended up just turning around and heading back to Newport...we ended the day with about 70 miles. We didn't take the trails over to Charleston and we didn't do the Corinna Loop either...both of which I think we might do next weekend or the following weekend.

The trails are pretty good up there, Newport to Corinna is smooth as can be, Corinna to Dover-Foxcroft is pretty smooth but there are some big dips here and there. Didn't really see any mud, but I didn't dare to get off the trails too much...not sure where we could go and where we weren't suppose to go...

Definitely looking forward to going again...this was kind of a spur of the moment ride today, woke up this morning and just decided to go...gotta get some of you guys on here to meet up there next time!

The corrina loop is nice.. except the dust can be insanely intense!!! to be honest The small trail system we have here in waterville fairfield area is actually a great ride. it can take all day to see most everything.. That dust in those fields up north are crazy!!! My friend Im not kidding almost went blind.. anyway I'm so bored at work ATM!!

I just rode the trails in Fairfield, yesterday. Rode with the club that maintains those trails too. WOW! Those really are some great trails, connect to Oakland, and go out to Bear Mt. in Norridgewock. Didn't go down all the trails, but can't wait to do some more exploring.
