Marengo Swamp Run
#41
Hey guys,
I actually asked my mom about putting the snorkels on, and she said that she wouldnt really mind it much. I asked my grandpa about it and he said that they used to have something similiar in the army. Well he says he can get me the right materials cheap form a guy he knows and that me and him could put it on!!! So I'm soon to have a near amphibious quad!!! It will so great to have the whole thing underwater and still have it run just fine. Also, I heard about a ride at the bonnie carrie spillway coming up soon, its supposed to be hosted by Mike Foster, if anyone knows details or dates please let me know.

No news, Just thought I'd let yall know one more forum guy would be there. Marengo isn't but about 30 min. from where I've lived my whole life(LSU student now, Baton Rouge)
I know I can convince about a dozen friends of mine to bring it on. Never been before
so it will be interesting to see how my old ride will stack up to the big dawgs. Should have 28s or 27x12 on the front by then.

I was thinking about coming down there from TN to do this mud run, but I'm not sure I could make it through the whole trail. Are there any 2wd quads that do this run? I have a Yamaha Warrior with 22" Realtors on it, and it does pretty good here in Guam where I'm presently stationed. Just wondering.

Swamp: Some buddies and I are about to buy some Yamaha Kodiaks. I had a Honda BIG RED 3-wheeler when I was a kid in East Texas but other than that, we don't have much riding experience. Our Kodiaks will be 2x4 and stock. This swamp run sounds like a lot of fun. Will we be way out of our league if we attend?

Nah,
ya'll will fit right in with whatever you ride.... The wole idea of this ride is for everybody to get together (SOBER) and go for a nasty ride thru the swamp... The proceeds go to the "make a wish foundation for terminally ill children"... So its a good cause.
2wd machines will do just fine, if you don't get stuck once or twice, you arent having any fun.... but you won't be out of your league....
Although I wouldn't suggest bringing a Banshee unless its equipped with Swampers.... and a winch...lololol....j/k

mudmachine is right, 2wd will have no problem. just so happens i have a friend with a warrior and 22"realtors. he does fine but ground clearance is his worst enemy. there are usually 100 or more sport quads out there. most with mudmachines, realtors,or swampers. i've seen some with sandtires, not a good idea. half his flaps were tore off the other half was barely hanging on.
like mud said, come and have a good time for a good cause. bring your kids if you got any. about 1/3 of the people out there are under 18. yall see me out there. i'll be on a beige 99 grizz, 27"vamps, custom built front bumper, and i'll be video taping alot of the ride. where did you grow up justn?

Matt and Grizzmaster,
I'll answer both questions with one sentence.
I used to live in Ruston, La, which is 20 min. from Monroe. I dont think Hebert is that far from Monroe? Now I live in Baton Rouge.
It takes me about 3 to 3 1/2 hrs to get to I-20 at Rayville from Baton Rouge.
