Dallas/Ft. Worth Area
#3
The Flyin P is the closest to Dallas. There are some Cross Country tracks around there as well. The Spillway below Lake Lavon is open to riding but this time of year it is usually pretty muddy. It goes along Hwy 78 just east of Wylie. There is also Rocky Rige about 20 miles Northwest of Denton that is a good place to ride.(steep hills, creeks, little bit of everything there)also there is Muenster..called Red River riding area.
I just noticed that you are from Plano.
I live in Princeton. Obviously Lake Lavon would be the closest for you. To get to this place you just go to the east side of the dam, there is a small parking area and n charge to ride. It is marked that you can only ride in the approx 40 acres where the parking is, but there are trails that go for miles.
If you would like some more info on other places, let me know.

I just figured out what the ds650 is. knowing this I think that you would probably want to go to Rocky Ridge. Usually on a nice weekend there are about ten banchees there. There are lots of trails and a place where people sit out there and drag race each other. I have not been there since I got my scrambler 500 so I didn't join in. My cousin just got a banchee and is wanting to go out there so he can join in. To get to this place you would go west on 380 to denton and then north on 35 till you got to Sanger. Once in Sanger you would go west on 455 through Slidel(one horse town) till you get to 51 then turn back north on 51 for about 5-10 miles.. the place is on the left. you have to be on the lookout. Man owns about 5000 acres. charges I beleive $8.00 a head..(rider or not)
e-mail me if you need better directions or if you are looking for someone to go with.

TO_Y28: Thanks for the info. I plan on checking out all riding areas. Today I went to Marshall Creek Park. It is about one mile north of Roanoke off 377 on Marshall Creek rode. It is about an hour drive from my house. The place is awesome. Lots of MX type tracks and sand riding along lake grapevine. Mostly motorcross bikes, some 4-wheelers. Free and open daily. Operated by army corp of engineers or something.
I am always looking for people to ride with.
I have a new e-mail and nick.

There is a place on the border of Garland and Rowlett. It's privately owned but the owner doesn't seem to care. There is always a field full of ATV's and motorcycles. Take George Bush freeway (190) all the way through Garland towards Rowlett. 190 turns into Northeast Parkway and then into Rowlett Road. The field is on the corner of Northeast Parkway and Dexham street. It's actually the Rowlett Creek flood plain. Only muddy after a good rain.
