Clay has a sign up sheet on his website at http://www.angelfire.com/nc2/steelrider for the ride, when you sign up say if you want to campout or stay in a motel cause we have not decided. I have a few maps listed in my pics site.

How far is it from Greensboro and on what road. I'd like to come if it's sand dunes, since I'd love to ride in sand for the first time. Is it a farely large place.

From Greensboro we are taking I-40 all the way to Wilmington and then jumping on 17s towards Supply,NC. There is a short cut that leads from 17s to 211 on a backroad that goes through Half Hell and Midway and it comes out right at the gas station at Dan's Fan City, I am not sure of the name of the road but it is right at the sign for the zoo off of 17s, if you take this road have a map so you head towards 211 not all the way towards the zoo. From the store hang a left for about one mile and you will see two large billboards on your right and then a wide sand road baring off 211. Just drive up the sand road a little ways and find a good spot to pull over and park. If you drive a truck you can actualy drive a long ways up the sand road.
If you are coming up 17s from Wilmington you will see billboards for St.James golf course that is about 1 mile east of the trail entrance, so you could follow those directions if you want to, I have not gone that way so I am unsure if it would take you out of the way, heck it could be quicker who knows. I think we will leave Greensboro around 8:00 am so we should cruise through Raleigh alittle past 9:15 and get down to the trails around 1:00pm or 1:30pm Friday afternoon. I think there is a Comfort inn right past 211 on 17s near Shallote maybe 20 to 30 minutes from the trails. Go to http://www.steelriders.com and sign up for the ride and tell him what you ride and what time you will get there so we can be looking for y'all. You can also go to my site and see pictures and printable maps for the area at the link below my name. I hope to meet all of you all there. If you want to meet us somewhere on the way down and have a little convoy of atvs let us know what exit you will be waiting at and we can meet you there. Email me and let me know.

Later,
